Wallowa and Imnaha River
Watershed Evaluation Teams (WET) Program

Welcome!
The Wallowa and Imnaha River WET (Watershed Evaluation Teams) Program is a collaborative watershed education and monitoring program for all schools in Wallowa County. Field teams of students and teachers, along with staff from WMI, the Nez Perce Tribe Fisheries, and the US Forest Service assess and track changing conditions in water quality and watershed function from headwaters in the Wallowa Mountains down to the Snake River.

Goals of this program are:
1) To educate our students about our watersheds and their health in Wallowa County.
2) To build connections between students and our landscape, as well as ecosystem processes.
3) To develop/add to existing databases of information for the Wallowa and Imnaha Rivers that demonstrate potential changes over time.
4) To develop a mentoring relationship between middle and high school students, as well as natural resource professionals.
